Job Posting - Children's Librarian


3pm – 8pm Monday – Thursday/12pm – 5pm Friday (25 hours per week)
Education/Abilities Required for Consideration:
  • Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-Accredited institution, or comparable education/experience.
  • Previous library work/customer service background desired.
  • Knowledge of current trends in library service to children/young adults and the ability to develop and implement services to children/young adults preferred.
Key Duties Include:
  • Plans, organizes and supervises after school story hours and programs.
  • Selects materials for acquisition and withdrawal from print and non-print collections, as well as supervising the organization, maintenance, preservation, withdrawal and disposal of materials per library policy.
  • Promotes and publicizes the services, programs and resources of the Children’s/Young Adult library.
  • Serves as liaison to schools and community agencies serving children in conjunction with Town Hall Library’s Children’s Coordinator.
  • Maintains working knowledge of contemporary issues, trends and technology in the library profession through various professional development opportunities.
  • Provides material search assistance and reader’s advisory assistance to patrons of all ages.
Starting wage for this position is $13.75 per hour, including Wisconsin Retirement System benefit.

Job Posting - Technology Services/Reference Librarian 

Technology Services/Reference Librarian Job Posting, Elm Grove Public Library The Elm Grove Public Library is accepting applications for Technology Services/Reference Librarian. We are seeking a tech-savvy candidate for a position which provides reference services and collection development, as well as technical support and instruction for computer, internet, and electronic materials/devices to staff and patrons.

We are looking for a candidate who is customer-service focused, and has a strong background in computer applications as they relate to library services. Starting wage is $18.00 per hour. This 12 hours per week position includes 2 evening shifts per week and rotating Saturdays. Job will begin in April 2014, or as soon as position is filled. Master of Library Science degree is required. A successful applicant will be required to undergo a drug screening and a background check. This position will remain open untill filled.

Job Opening - Circulation Desk Assistant

Merton Town Hall Library is seeking a Circulation Desk Assistant.  A Circulation Desk Assistant helps library users with circulation functions such as checking materials in and out, issuing cards, providing search assistance, collecting fees and providing basic directions and information about our library.
