Technical Services Librarian Job Posting

Elm Grove Public Library

The Elm Grove Public Library is accepting applications for a Technical Services Librarian. Responsibilities include cataloging and classifying all adult book and audiovisual materials; maintaining an accurate database of library holdings; and overseeing the processing of materials prior to cataloging.  This position will also be responsible for some collection development; providing reference and interlibrary loan service, computer-related assistance, and readers’ advisory services to patrons. 

Starting wage of $18.00 per hour includes prorated holiday and vacation pay, retirement benefits, and optional participation in a 457 plan.  This 28 hours per week position includes  rotating Saturdays. Job will begin in December 2014, or as soon as position is filled.

Circulation Services Manager 

The Delafield Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced individual to lead our Circulation Services Department. The candidate for the position will have outstanding communication & customer services skills & significant supervisory experience. Understanding of circulation desk functions & circulation software preferred. 

Duties include: 

  • Supervises the daily procedures & work flow of the circulation desk & workroom     
  • Scheduling, supervising & training circulation staff. Maintains employee payroll records including hours worked, sick, vacation, personal
  • Provides assistance in use of computer equipment & software to both patrons & staff
  • Assists director in development of circulation procedures & policies                               

Education & Abilities Required for Consideration

College Degree or commensurate library experience

Library experience preferred

Excellent customer service skills, enjoys working with people of all ages

Competent in use of Microsoft Office products, Internet searching & downloading digital content 
 

Starting salary: $15.00/hour25 hours/week. Schedule includes evening, Saturday & Sunday hours, flexibility in scheduling is required.

 Adult Services/Computer Technology Support Librarian-Full Time

 

Join the Delafield Public Library team as a full time adult service/computer technology librarian.

You will be responsible for providing reference & reader’s advisory service, planning, coordinating & implementing library programs and outreach within the library and for the community.  Additional responsibilities include managing the ILS (Integrated Library System, public online catalog, public internet terminals & staff computers & printers)

 

Required Education & Experience:   Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited library school, two years experience in a public library, knowledge of computer networking concepts & applications.  Individual that has equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
